International Space Education Board(ISEB)
The annual meeting of International Space Education Board (ISEB*) was held on October 22, 2019, in Washington, D.C., the capital city of US.The meeting is held every year during the session of International Astronautical Congress (IAC), the world's largest space-related meeting, in the same city.
ISEB organizes about a week of ISEB Student Program, which consists of international exchange activities for graduate and undergraduate students dispatched from around the world, space education workshops for teachers, space educational outreach activities targeting children of the hosting city, etc.
At the ISEB annual meeting, heads of education (HoE) of the participating agencies make decisions necessary for the student program and discuss other cooperative projects. Based on the agreed plan, the working group members of the participating agencies take almost a year to organize and prepare the program for the next year.
For the meeting in 2019, HoEs and persons in charge from eight space and education agencies gathered to share the latest information and discuss under the facilitation of NASA, the ISEB chair in 2019, such themes as cooperative activities, including the ISEB program, and a newly prepared logo of the ISEB website. At the end of the meeting, the duty of chair was passed over from NASA to ESA, marking a start of preparation for the ISEB Student Program scheduled in October, 2020 in Dubai.
